MYCOMMODITY PALM OIL PIETRO PAGANINI
The Resiliency of the Oil Palm Supply Chain – Kuala Lumpur – Pietro Paganini

I am back to Malaysia – finally after almost 30 long months – to visit Kuala Lumpur and the oil palm supply chain family. I took part and gave a talk at the Malaysia International Agrocommodity Summit >>>.

The big trade show and conference took place in Kuala Lumpur on July 26/28 at the MITEC conference center in KL.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob Meets with Wang Yi and Agro Commodity Minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin.
My talk took place in the conference on the agro commodity future in the Palm Oil Breakout session. See program >>>
I presented the most recent data on the pal oil supply chain success in feeding the planet and the most updated data on consumers perception in Europe. The presentation was very much appreciated as it offered the chance to discuss the implication of new EU legislations on due diligence, zero deforestation, and corporate sustainability.
I demonstrated that palm oil is the solution to some of the problems Europe is trying to challenge.

  • In fact, this is happening because of the desperate need of vegetable oils.
  • I presented the 3 challenges we are facing: climate change, global supply chains disruptions, and lockdowns due to covid. Obviously the war in Ukraine is causing the disruption of the supply chains around the world too.
